Hina Furoshiki

Cotton
Approx. 50 × 52 cm

¥3,300 each

Thirty auspicious kimono patterns that have been cherished for generations in Kyoto have been reimagined with a contemporary sensibility and crafted into compact, easy-to-use furoshiki.

Inspired by the desire to pass on the Japanese aesthetic embodied in these traditional motifs—including gratitude for nature and wishes for the happiness of loved ones—this special project was realized in collaboration with Chiso Yuzen Factory.

The fabric is carefully woven on traditional shuttle looms in Senshu, Osaka, using an original textile developed exclusively for this collection. Softening beautifully with use and machine washable at home, these furoshiki are ideal for everyday use, thoughtful gifts, and many other occasions.

Design: Chiso Yuzen Factory

Drawing on its extensive archives, Chiso Yuzen Factory creates contemporary works rooted in traditional Japanese design. In recent years, the studio has embraced new approaches that bring timeless Japanese aesthetics into modern lifestyles through fashion items, art pieces, and other creative expressions, sharing the beauty of Japan with future generations and audiences around the world.

Dyeing: Baba Dyeing Factory

Established in 1913 in Fushimi, Kyoto, Baba Dyeing Factory continues to operate in its historic wooden workshop, preserving its original architecture with high, pillar-free ceilings. Skilled artisans continue to practice the traditional katazome (stencil dyeing) technique, hand-dyeing furoshiki and kimono with exceptional craftsmanship.

Fabric: Sakae Textile

Located in Senshu, Osaka, Sakae Textile specializes in weaving narrow-width fabrics on traditional shuttle looms. One of its defining features is the beautifully finished selvedge edge, created by weaving the fabric to its final width without cutting. Combining Japanese craftsmanship with refined aesthetics, the fabric is both elegant and practical, making it especially well suited for furoshiki.
