Originally published by Makiburo on the novel platform “Shōsetsuka ni Narō,” later adapted into a book and illustrated in manga form by Nazuna Shiroume, Inside the Villainess has become a widely talked-about work.
“Emi,” who is reincarnated as the villainess Remilia in an RPG-style otome game, is unjustly condemned by the game’s heroine, the “Maiden of the Stars,” despite her efforts. As Remilia seeks to clear Emi’s name, the true Remilia—who had been watching from within—finally appears.
The short story version of Inside the Villainess was first published on “Shōsetsuka ni Narō” in 2020, followed by a serialized version and a novel release by Ichijinsha Novels in 2021.
The manga adaptation by Nazuna Shiroume, serialized in comic LAKE since November 2021 under the title Inside the Villainess: I Will Take Revenge on the Lying Heroine for the Reincarnated One Who Was Condemned, ranked 9th in the Next Manga Awards 2023 (Web Manga category) and 3rd in the Web Manga General Election 2023.
A TV anime adaptation has also been announced for 2027, and the series continues to attract attention even after its conclusion.
This exhibition marks the first-ever exhibition of Inside the Villainess.
Based on the world created by Makiburo, the exhibition features newly drawn illustrations created specifically for this event by illustrator Murasaki Mai and manga artist Nazuna Shiroume, along with iconic scenes, recreated displays, and costumes, offering a fully immersive experience into the world of the story.
