BEAUTIFUL MIND
One Good Thing Every Day for Myself and Others

October 15 (Wed) – 28 (Tue)

If more people take joy in this autumn, the future will surely become a little brighter. With that spirit, we present a selection of items, events, and campaigns.

What is BEAUTIFUL MIND?
“BEAUTIFUL MIND – One Good Thing Every Day for Myself and Others” is an event that proposes a sustainable way of living. It aims to nurture a beautiful mindset—living in good health, cherishing oneself, and acting with awareness for the future of society and the planet. This is the spirit we wish to share over these two weeks.

Naruki Takahashi solo exhibition

October 15 (Wed) – 21 (Tue)
◆ 1F Space of Ginza

Matsuya Ginza is proud to host the first solo exhibition of Naruki Takahashi, a wood artist and forester from Kochi Prefecture who cultivates healthy forests, harvests timber through thinning, and creates artworks from the wood he processes himself. This exhibition will showcase a wide range of pieces, from works commemorating the 100th anniversary of Matsuya Ginza to collaborative creations with “Hamada Washi,” an artisan paper studio also based in Kochi.

Artist Profile – Naruki Takahashi
Born in 1997. Inspired by a desire to share the beauty and value of “wood” from Kochi Prefecture, which boasts the highest forest coverage in Japan, he began his creative activities. Since childhood, he assisted his grandfather with forestry work, and his life has always been closely tied to the natural woodland. To this day, he continues to enter the forests, using timber he personally cuts to craft his works.

Naruki Takahashi × Miyako Takayama Talk Show [Advance Reservation Required]
October 18 (Sat), from 3:00 p.m.

To commemorate the solo exhibition, we welcome Miyako Takayama — a model, writer, and multifaceted creator, as well as an admirer of Takahashi’s works — for a special talk session. Together, they will explore the charm of Takahashi’s creations and discuss the state of Japan’s mountains as they approach the season for forest thinning.

Profile – Miyako Takayama
Born in 1982. Active as a model, writer, and product director, she also shares her mindful lifestyle through her popular Instagram. Her hobbies include cooking, running, collecting tableware, traveling, and wearing traditional Japanese clothing.
