I sought to depict the energy emerging from branches, the invisible energy. Unlike wall installations, I attempted to express this field of energy within the space of paper. There exists a space where countless lines, interactions of energy, overlaps, and intersections intertwine. How does the energy released from the tips of living branches differ from that released from human fingertips? As I drew, I wondered where these energies were heading. The red and blue drawings evoke paired concepts: gravity and anti-gravity, motion and stillness, the visible and the invisible, continuity and discontinuity. Within this small sheet, I wished to explore the relationship between energy, the universe, humanity, and the Earth. - Keiji Uematsu
