In the solo exhibition Abandoned Mirror at Gallery Nomaru from March to April 2024, I created a series of monotype works centered around the theme of mirrors. Monotype is a printmaking technique where an image painted on a glass or acrylic plate is transferred to paper, resulting in a unique print that is a mirror image, reversed from left to right. At first, I found it challenging to reconcile the deep significance of the word mirror with the lightness of the finished artworks. However, after over six months of dedicated effort, I completed around 130 pieces, of which this is one.
