Within the historic classification of Bordeaux Saint-Émilion, Clos Badon Thunevin achieved the long-awaited promotion to Grand Cru Classé starting with the 2022 vintage. The estate enjoys one of the most prestigious locations in Saint-Émilion, neighboring renowned châteaux such as Château Pavie and Château La Gaffelière. This recognition reflects decades of exceptional craftsmanship and dedicated efforts to reveal the full potential of its terroir, marking a new chapter for the wine. Some of the oldest vines on the estate date back to 1954, supporting the wine’s remarkable depth and character.

The wine shows a deep garnet hue. Aromas of ripe blackberry and cassis emerge from beautifully matured fruit, accompanied by floral notes of violet and gentle hints of sweet spice, creating an elegant bouquet. On the palate, the first impression is one of impressive concentration and generous fruit. Silky, fine-grained tannins characteristic of Merlot integrate seamlessly, forming a structured yet refined expression. The finish is long and graceful, reflecting the pride and distinction of its new Grand Cru Classé status.
