In 1979, agnès Troublé often wore sweatshirts. One day, she suddenly thought how convenient it would be if the front could open, like the cardigans she buttoned up on her way to school as a child. She designed the snap buttons to be placed closely together, reminiscent of Renaissance garments or priestly attire, and thus the Cardigan Pression was born.
At first, it was made of cotton melton fabric (brushed-back), with straight cutting, a round collar, and two adjustable tabs at the back.
Later, the Cardigan Pression was expanded to kids and men’s lines, and evolved constantly with variations such as leather instead of melton, short sleeves, bustier styles, or cinched waists.
The Cardigan Pression remains a unique, timeless, and beloved classic of agnès b.
