A Grand Cru Mazoyères-Chambertin that had long been sold entirely to négociants now makes its long-awaited debut as a domaine-bottled wine in 2023 under Marion’s direction.
With an extremely limited production of just 1.5 barrels, this rare cuvée comes from vines aged 50 to 60 years, carefully preserved since the time of Jean Raphet. It marks a significant milestone in the history of the domaine.
The palate opens with generous depth and breadth. Aromas of ripe cherry and blueberry are layered with dark fruit nuances. Subtle spice and a hint of wild character add complexity, while a silky texture carries a quiet strength. The structured core brings focus to the rich fruit, leading to a long and refined finish. A Grand Cru of notable presence, with excellent ageing potential.
