「Tsu-tsu-mu: The Art of Gentle Design Connections」Exhibition
September 26 (Fri) – October 13 (Mon, public holiday)
8th Floor Event Square (closes at 5:00 p.m. on the final day)

Held as part of Matsuya Ginza’s 100th anniversary celebrations, the 「Tsu-tsu-mu: The Art of Gentle Design Connections」 exhibition explores the theme of “wrapping”. Yet this is not merely about packaging design or traditional wrapping techniques. From natural forms such as eggshells and rice balls, to Japan’s traditional origata folding methods, to contemporary products and even architecture—the exhibition reexamines the concept of “wrapping” as a design methodology from multiple perspectives.

Seven thematic sections present around 90 works and examples, revealing the essence of wrapping and its new potential.

Special Collaboration: [Tsu-tsu-mu Café by OGAKI BOOKSTORE]
September 26 (Fri) – October 13 (Mon, public holiday)
8th Floor Event Square (closes at 5:00 p.m. on the final day)

As part of the exhibition [Tsu-tsu-mu: The Art of Gentle Design Connections] organized by the Japan Design Committee, a limited-time book café, [Tsu-tsu-mu Café by OGAKI BOOKSTORE], will be open.

This special collaboration between Matsuya Ginza and Ogaki Shoten, a long-established Kyoto-based bookstore, brings the concept of [tsu-tsu-mu] (to wrap) into the very design of the space. Visitors are invited to relax and immerse themselves in the afterglow of the exhibition while enjoying books, drinks, and a carefully curated atmosphere.

The space is overseen by designer Makoto Koizumi of the Japan Design Committee. With furnishings by Maruni Wood Industry, vessels by Nousaku, and glassware by Sugahara, the café embodies refined aesthetics down to the smallest detail.
