In 2003, Takenobu Igarashi, who designed the "Star Clock" on the south exterior wall of Sapporo Station, also designed the station clocks for both the east and west concourses. Featuring a double-sided display (white on one side, black on the other), all numbers on the lower half are oriented upward for easy viewing from below. Developed as a personal clock faithful to this original station clock design, it features an easy-to-read, beautiful dial with original typography worthy of a station clock. The frame is crafted from sand-cast, precision-machined aluminum with minimal clearance between dial and glass, pursuing the ultimate basic clock design. Winner of the 2006 Good Design Award.
