Gourmarché Vin LES FORTS DE LATOUR 2016 750ml

The second wine produced by Château Latour, a First Growth estate in the Médoc classification of Bordeaux. Its name derives from the historic plot “L’Enclos,” and it is a label with a long heritage, first appearing in 1966.

Crafted under the same rigorous grape selection and winemaking standards as the Grand Vin, it is made from grapes sourced from a variety of plots, expressing a distinct character with each vintage. Compared to the Grand Vin, it features a slightly higher proportion of Merlot, resulting in a style that combines Latour’s signature depth with a refined suppleness.

The estate follows a unique philosophy of releasing the wine only when it is deemed to be at its optimal drinking window, after extended aging in the cellar. The 2016 vintage also demonstrates its true quality after sufficient maturation.

The 2016 vintage experienced contrasting climatic conditions, with heavy rainfall in the first half of the season followed by dry weather in the latter half, resulting in a wine with concentration and a clearly defined structure. Within its powerful yet well-balanced framework, Latour’s unwavering philosophy is elegantly expressed.
