＜agnès b. Cardigan Pression＞
Back in 1979, agnès b. often wore sweatshirts. One hot summer day, she recalled running to school as a child while wearing a cardigan, and came up with the idea of opening the front of her sweatshirt. She then designed snap buttons to be arranged at narrow intervals, reminiscent of Renaissance garments or clergy robes, giving birth to the cardigan pression. Initially, the cardigan pression was made with cotton melton fabric (brushed on the inside), with a straight cut, a round collar, and two adjustable tabs at the back. Later, it expanded into kids’ and men’s lines, and evolved further—using leather instead of melton, creating short-sleeve versions, bustiers, or designs with cinched waists. The cardigan pression has continuously evolved, remaining one of agnès b.’s most iconic and timeless items.
