The inclination of the seat reflects Riki Watanabe's intention for it to be "more comfortable to sit on than a flat seat." Furthermore, fine details reveal a refined minimal structural beauty, such as the hand hole designed between the two seat boards for easy carrying.

Legs: 10mm Diameter

【Design Committee Selection Comment】
Designed in 1954 as a stool for the entrance hall of a residence designed by Kiyoshi Seike, it was brought to commercial production half a century later. It exhibits a structure reminiscent of the prototype of Riki Watanabe's representative "Torii Stool," which reinterpreted rattan—a traditional material—through modern design. The combination of the warm solid wood seat and the linear steel rod legs creates an exceptionally neat expression.
