In the 1990s, Château Valandraud led the revolution that reshaped Bordeaux’s hierarchy as the emblematic “Cinderella wine.” Among its remarkable history, the 2009 vintage stands out as a truly historic great vintage. Extremely limited fruit, harvested from severely restricted yields, was aged for a lavish 22 months in 100% new oak before being bottled. Widely praised by leading critics around the world, the 2009 vintage represents a perfect union of extraordinary concentration and exceptional balance, elevated through ideal maturation. It is truly a masterpiece worthy of the most distinguished collections.

Intense aromas of blackberry, cassis liqueur, and ripe plum intertwine with layers of dark chocolate, graphite, and spice, creating a seductive and complex bouquet. The palate is remarkably polished and sensual. With time, the finely integrated tannins have softened beautifully, allowing the wine to glide across the palate with both power and a silk-like texture, leading to an endlessly elegant finish. Rich fruit and noble structure come together in perfect harmony, expressing the true essence of Valandraud.
