“Wrapping” is the theme of this exhibition
Tsu-tsu-mu: Design Typology for Care and Inclusion Exhibition is being held as part of the 100th Anniversary of Matsuya Ginza.
The theme of this exhibition is “wrapping.” Yet it is not simply a showcase of package design or traditional wrapping techniques. From natural forms such as eggs and rice balls found in everyday life, to Japan’s traditional origata, contemporary products, and even architecture—this exhibition uncovers the concept of “wrapping” hidden within diverse phenomena. By viewing it through the lens of care, the exhibition reinterprets “wrapping” as a design methodology from multiple perspectives.
The venue will feature seven thematic sections, presenting approximately 90 works and examples, inviting visitors to rediscover the essence of “wrapping” and explore its new possibilities.
